ELECTRICIAN'S PROGRAM
Port Neches-Groves High School and Nederland High School are piloting an electricianís program in conjunction with the Electricianís Training Center in Nederland. IBEW supplied both PN-GHS and NHS with its online training course, textbooks, and calculators for this program. This venture is funded by a grant opportunity through a local electrical contracting company. Mr. Cris Boucher is the electrical teacher in this pilot program for PN-GHS students. Students who successfully complete this year of training have the opportunity for it to count toward the first year of the five-year electricianís apprenticeship program after graduation from PN-G High School.
